Redang

Redang's water is its trademark — visibility holds at twenty-five metres on a slow afternoon and the hard coral cover on the south-east corner is some of the most intact reef in the South China Sea. Green turtles are residents, not visitors. The juveniles come up to the boat at the pier without being asked.

We base from Marang Jetty for the seventy-five-minute crossing. Most sites sit in five to twenty metres — Redang is forgiving water, suited to Open Water divers and the people they bring.
